Web hosting?
I am going to start two websites very soon. My web host offers two domains so does this mean I can have two websites with one plan? Also should I chose Linux hosting or Microsoft hosting? I will use PHP and Java in both of my websites. And I am choosing 1&1 if it makes a difference.
admin answers:
It sounds like your plan allows 2 websites, and you may as well go with Linux.

Web Hosting Question?
Hello Everyone,
Found this web host named buzzhosting and unsure as to weather or not I should actually go ahead and purchase web hosting with them, i am looking at there BronzePlan seeing as my mate is also with them on that same plan… Will this plan meet the requirement’s to create a wordpress blog or basic forum? Or maybe even both… Or should I consider one of there higher more expensive plans?
I have been thinking about BlueHost, JustHost, 1&1, 123-reg, and fasthost’s however I have already been with JustHost and 1&1 and I was not very happy with the quality of there services.
Anyway the website for buzzhosting is:
https://buzzhosting.org
Thanks,
Jake
admin answers:
Hi Jake,
Avoid Buzzhosting, they are not a real hosting service, only a reseller of another reseller and their using domain privacy on their primary domain name. This just rings hundreds of bells in my ears. You’re likely to receive worse and worse support till your site one day suddenly goes offline because the reseller didn’t pay their monthly fee. It happens all the time. So heed my warning and stay clear, they are not a honest hosting service and will not be stable.
I know you said you don’t like the larger companies, but they are large as they are stable and doing somethings right.
I’ve had site with up to 8GB of data without having my sites suspended, this mostly happens with illegal materials and people trying to publish sites like Youtube, I wouldn’t really worry about it unless you are distributing illegal content or the main purpose of your site is to distribute many large files.
Here’s my experience and opinions on these hosts I’ve used.
HostGator: (The host I use now and highly recommend)
Is a little more expensive than the alternatives, however is this is easily made up for by their quality of service. They are also one of the few providers who support both PHP 5.2 and PHP 5.3, which has been the current version of PHP for almost a year now. PHP 5.2 supplied by other hosts is lacking too many features. Their baby plan is amazing and allows you to support as many websites as you like all with different domains. They’re big because they’re doing something right.

HostMonster、Bluehost:
There are actually one company who used to be quite reputable, but their recent plans and lack of paypal support now have taken them down on my recommendation list. (PHP 5.2)

Justhost:
Avoid at all costs, their "Instant Setup" took 22 hours of arguing with support to get mine activated. Support technicians while they seem friendly have no power to do anything at all. (PHP 5.2)
The hosting service works ok, however it's too much of a nightmare getting anything done with support. They also try to upsell you at every turn, don't buy the extras, they're not worth and and not refundable.
GoDaddy
If you're after a nightmare and wasted money, this is the place to go. They are fine for buying domains, just never use their hosting. (Not worth thinking about)
