Your Questions About Yahoo Small Business Web Hosting

Can’t access web site hosted by Yahoo Small Business, Can I Sue them?
I have been calling both verizon and yahoo for nearly 2 weeks, with no results. A yahoo tech told me the problem was verizon needs to unmerge my site from verizon. Verizon won’t assist me at all, they just hang up on me. Yahoo keeps sending me the same answer which requires me to log on that does not work. I am up to date on bill payments etc. but Yahoo web hosting will not help me. Just wondering if I have a case to sue them. I am paying for a service that I am not being allowed to access? I really do need to make some changes to the site but my site builder will no longer sign on correctly. The Verizon transfer program does not function at all. I have spoke to a dozen different techs and keep getting the run around. What should I do to get some real results?

It sounds like Verizon is your problem. I have a Yahoo Small Business account, and I’ve never had a problem with it.

SQL, PHP or Cold Fusion – in Yahoo Small Business Hosting?
I have to program several dynamic pages with self updating databases for a car dealer whose web design I do. It’s for automatically updating both new and used inventories on a nightly basis. They are hosted on Yahoo Small Business and I’m wondering if anyone has a good idea as to which server technology I should use for it.
admin answers:
SQL is definitely a must since that is the language you use for querying/updating your database.
Regarding the programming language, I have used Cold Fusion and PHP. I prefer PHP. For one, it is totally free while Cold Fusion is not. Second, PHP is very very easy to learn and get stared using right away. Cold Fusion (it’s been a while) had a higher learning curve. You will also find a lot of Web resources available and you can go to any bookstore and find numerous books on PHP to get started.

Who hosts my Small Business web sites?
I have a contract with YahooSmallBusiness, who “supposedly” host my websites, or do they?, or don’t they?. “Don’t think they do” I pay Yahoo in US $ every month and they have a 3rd party who hosts my sites. Who are they? Its not Yahoo7, who are they? Who hosts my web sites? Now I’ve never had a problem with Yahoo USA. Yahoo7, who I actually got to talk to on the phone. That in its self is a metrical, they told me, they don’t host my sites. Who does?. Ever since Yahoo Sitebuilder freezes my computer over 3month ago, my websites have changed by themselves. I haven’t been able to install sitebuilder again because it freezes my computer tried about 8 times and can’t get answers. I can’t update or work on my site. Did Yahoo also give the 3rd party the SiteBuilder software? Because its no freeking working?
