How do I find a good web hosting service?
I am learning web design and I need to find a cost effective web host. I checked out Comcast and Google but they just have these pre designed templates that look like they’re for people who just want to post stuff about their family reunion, etc. What I want to do is design pages in html and display them and the ones I mention won’t let me do that. How do I find a good and cheap web hosting service?

I need to use FTP to store and transfer very large video files (original and non-copyrighted content) but most hosting services don’t allow that. Are there any that do? If not then how else can I store/transfer these files using FTP?
