Your Questions About Yahoo Web Host

Mark asks…
How do I transfer my website to Yahoo Web Hosting. I am probably too late -it was www.geocities.com?
I would like to know If I can transfer the file I saved to Yahoo Web Hosting for a fee? Can you help
I know geocities was terminated 10/26/2009, only found the letter with instructions today?
Anything I can do???? Please help

admin answers:
Sorry you didn’t see the notices until just now, but the Geocities upgrade options were only available before Geocities was closed. When we closed the Geocities service all files were deleted from our servers.
All is not lost however, there are a couple of places that attempted to archive the Geocities sites, you can try using the way back machine at archive.org or you can check reocities.com to see if they were able to save your pages.
If you are able to locate your pages at reocities.com or archive.org and would like to host them with Yahoo!, or if you’d like to create all new pages you can signup at https://smallbusiness.yahoo.com or you can call us at 866-781-9246 Mon.–Fri., 7 a.m.–5 p.m. PT

Susan asks…
I use Yahoo Web Hosting & I need a logout feature for password-protected area of my web site. Please HELP?
Hi , I created a web site by using Yahoo Web Hosting. Yahoo Web Hosting provide the feature of password-protection., so when a visitor wants to view a password-protected directory , they have to type UserID and Password. It is like they login to my this directory. But Yahoo doesn’t provide any feature to logout from this directory.
Can anyone help me??????????
THANKS

admin answers:
Regrettably, if you wish to have this feature, it will need to be created by you or a 3rd party. Yahoo! Does not provide any functions for log out. This will require some type of scripting language like PHP and the utilization of a database. Unfortunately, this is not something Yahoo! Will be able to assist with.

Donald asks…
how can i upload an existing mysql database to yahoo web hosting?
I have an existing databse of roughly 249 tables with hundred sof thousands of rows of data. I am trying to get this uploaded to our mysql databse through yahoo hosting. Is there any scripts or programs that I can load to do this?

admin answers:
Nope. Not really
do a dump of your data and tables from your current mysql database to a txt document
Yahoo should offer you an interface (ie phpmyadmin) to access your mysql database. If they dont, then download that invaluable program and install it in your webspace.
Then upload (or import) your dumped data to your new mysql database.
