I’m looking to build a website with information and reviews about games and other gaming related products, but mainly a user forum. I’m looking for something relatively cheap, but I’m willing to pay a little. Please help.

Recommended web host for business site?
I am starting my own business, and am researching different web hosts for starting my site. So far, I have found some information, but nothing that really stands-out to help. Even reviews and best rated searches have given me only some information. I want to use an FTP server to upload Dreamweaver pages to my website. Does anyone have a web host they are using that they would recommend (or not recommend if you are using one you dislike and might be changing from). Any information is appreciated. Thanks.

I know how you feel. Those so called “best rated” searches usually does not help much. They will just repeat what was said on the web hosting site. If you are having problem choosing a web hosting to use, I suggest you do the following:
1. Go to the webhost review sites such as webhostingjury, hostingsthatsuck.com or webhostinggeeks and list down about 3 to 5 common top hosting companies.
2. Next, for each web hosting X, do a “X sucks” search on Google. Read some complaints and see if you may encounter the same problems like them. Some of the complaints may relate to certain groups of users only such as VPS, dedicated server users or resellers. So you may not be affected if you are not from these categories. You do this step to eliminate the hosting that got into the “top” list by paying their way up there.
3. Eliminate those hostings you feel uncomfortable with, and look for the best bargain hosting for your money.
You can start with Justhost, Fatcow and Bluehost. They all have FTP access and your Dreamweaver files should upload fine to most of these hostings.

Best web host for a PTA?
Our PTA is looking for a decent, low cost host for our website that will enable us to create a website for our members and community. Unfortunately, it is nearly impossible for me to find any where online that offers an objective review of the hosts available. Can anyone recommend a host OR point me to a reliable compilation of host reviews?
We need low cost, decent storage, and I’m not sure of the amount of bandwidth we’d realistically need.

Http://webhosting.moneysavecenter.com/IX-WEB-HOSTING.html not sure what a PTA is but I recently went through the process of checking eneryone and after getting my money back 5 TIMES from as many hosting cowboys (with a nice facade) I landed with IX and I am now very happy.
They are cheap, give you more than everyone else and are rock solid.

Looking for a good web host?
I’ve been using free web hosting for a couple of years now, and I think it’s time for me to register a domain name and start a REAL site. I have read numerous reviews about different web hosts to later discover elsewhere that they’re nothing but scams. I am aware that many of the “top 10 best web hosts” sites that show up so frequently are mainly just given to sites who bid for the highest mark. I want to make sure I am hosting my site at a safe, reliable, and guaranteed place before I give out my credit card number!
I’m looking for a web host that allows me to have a good amount of space and bandwidth, a WordPress install, and 1 domain name included for a decent pay-annually price.
Any recommendations are extremely appreciated, and if anyone has any experience with certain web hosts, please share! Thank you so much.
