Hi,
I can fully recommend Hostgator Web Hosting. As you’re new they have a great free website builder included in the package that will be ideal for setting up your site.
I have used Hostgator as my web host for over two years now and have been very very impressed with them. Firstly they’re very cheap but still give me more web hosting space and bandwidth than I’ll ever need, the ability to host unlimited websites, a 99.9% uptime guarantee and great customer support.
For less than $9 a month you get:
600 Gigs of Web Hosting Space
6,000 Gigabytes of Bandwidth
Host UNLIMITED Websites
99.9% Uptime Guarantee
45 Day Money Back Guarantee
CGI, PHP 4 & 5, RoR, Perl
MySQL, SSH, SSL, IMAP, POP
cPanel Hosting
24/7/365 Upgraded Support
You can find them at https://www.webhostgator.info

Helen asks…
I want to start my own websites to make extra money. Which is the best web hosting provider?

admin answers:
Jeff,
There really isn’t one web host that’s “best” for everyone. It depends on what features you need and how much you want to spend.
If you’re planning on creating multiple websites, you’ll want a hosting package that allows unlimited domains for one price. Do you want to learn html coding? If not you’ll need a host that has user-friendly software that makes building pages easy. Templates are also helpful because they give you a foundation to build your site on. Also, look for hosts that have Fantastico. It’s just a little program you run from your control panel that lets you install forums, blogs, and other neat features on your site.
Here’s a cool site that lists various hosts with comparisons, features, and reviews: https://www.webhost-comparison.com
You probably don’t need a dedicated server (which costs hundreds of dollars per month) unless your site really becomes huge or you need to run special processes which hog system resources. One of the shared packages should suit you fine.
One more thing…you’ll find most “basic” packages a little short on features. You’ll probably have to go with a higher package, but you should still be able to find one for $9 a month or even less.
Whatever you choose, good luck with your online business!

Mark asks…
I have static ip provided from my internet service provider can i host a web server at home?
I have local internet provider and he as given me a static ip so can i host a website on a server created at home. So can i create a web server at home? how to do that.

admin answers:
Setup a PC (doesnt need to be a server)
Give it an internal static IP on your local network (not the one your ISP gave you)
NOw install your hosting software? IIS, Apache, WAMP etc
On your router, do a port forward for all traffic on port 80 to the internal IP you gave your web server (PC).
NOw from anywhere external simply browse to your external static IP that your ISP gave you and you should reach your web server.
