Need help uploading with Frontpage?
I got a domain and hosting from godaddy for something I’m starting, made a simple site with Microsoft Frontpage but can’t upload it. I went to publish web and typed in the ftp://domain name and it uploaded but something went wrong. When you go to the site it says, “If you are the owner you incorrectly uploaded your site, click here for ftp help”. I just want to get this site uploaded right I don’t know what to do now.

There are a couple of ways to upload with frontpage…. I have used two myself….
When you use FTP, you need to type in ftp twice… Such as…
Ftp://ftp.yoursite.com this goes into the remote web site location… You can leave the FTP directory blank…
Try this…if it dont work, let me know?….

What’s the best web design program?
My web host has just stopped allowing me to use Frontpage to build and edit my website.
I need to find a new one.
Key features I need are:
– Easy to use (point and click, WYSIWYG type interface)
– Option to edit HTML
– Not too expensive (don’t mind paying a lit for the right one, but have very little money!)
– Uploads to HTML format, not some proprietary format
– Compatible with Yahoo! web hosting
My website is only a Monty Pythonfan sitee so don’t need masses of flash gizmos or the ability to build in loads of bells and whistles. Likewise don’t want to have to pay Dreamweaver type prices.
Okay then – recommend me one!
About the not too expensive bit – that kinda rules Dreamweaver out in a very big way!
How about something reasonably cheap or even free!
And haven’t been in school for a long, long time!

But how do you do it? Where abouts will I get the cheapest priced web host and domain. Please help?

I did a lot of reasearch before I chose the host for my website. I chose https://www.ixwebhosting.com. I pay $59 per year for the basic web hosting package which give me plenty of storage, emails, bandwidth, etc. For my needs. I would highly recommend IX Web Hosting.

Does anyone know where I can create my own Website using an app like Frontpage or dreamweaver and then upload it to a web hosting server for free? Are there any reliable good companies that provide basic free hosting services ?

They let you use “Advanced HTML mode” or “Standard Drag and Drop”.
Drag and Drop you drag something onto the page and it gets all pretty and whatnot.
Then you can edit your pages later, or add a new page and work on it via Drag/Drop or Advanced.
(Runs HTML/JavaScript)
