Your Questions About Web Host For Frontpage

Laura asks…
What is the best and most cost effective way to host multiple domain websites?
I have limited but improving web design skills and I want to create and upload several websites for my wife’s business, to help generate sales leads for her.
I have already purchased the domain names and will be using either FrontPage or Dreamweaver to create the sites … how do I go about uploading the sites and can anyone offer any advice on multi-domain hosting?
I am particularly interested to know of multiple domain hosting based in Australia … unless it really doesn’t matter if it’s in the same country as I am!

admin answers:
Of course it doesn’t matter where you’re located. You’ll get much better deals if you pick a US host.
For hosting multiple sites I recommend Dreamhost https://www.dreamhost.com/hosting.html
They’re the best, I host over 20 sites on a single account:
1. You get a free domain from them (actually 2 if you use the promo code, more about that later)
2. They have 500 GB of Disk Space
3. 5TB (5000 GB) of Bandwidth
4. You can use their huge Disk Space and host unlimited number of sites on a single account.
5. Their price is $119.40/year ($9.95/month if you pay yearly)
6. Which is a pretty standard price but they currently have a promotion:You can use the Promo Code: PLUS (at sign up page) and get a $50 discount + 2 Free Domain Names
7. This way you get them for $69.40/year ($5.78/month)

Mark asks…
I need to build a web site. Which program should I use and why? Dreamweaver? FrontPage? Other?
I would like to build a site for a family run hotel. Nothing fancy, but my only requirements would be for frequent updates and a page to collect reservation information, such as which days, email, phone #, address, names, etc – it would *not* be an online reservation system. Any recomendations on a good “off the shelf” program that would preferably be compatible with Yahoo hosting. Thanks!

admin answers:
Frontpage is easy and a fast publisher, easy to use with database.
Frontpage cannot create flash, jpeg, png, gif files.. Those are all multimedia files created by various other applications.
Dreamweaver is high end web designing software.
You probably won’t need dreamweaver.

Mandy asks…
Is there a software package available for creating an online web community with chat, forumns and blogs?
Is there a software package available for creating an online web community with chat, forumns and blogs?
I know that there are a ton of companies that produce forums for community websites, however I haven’t seen any programs that offer all three. My big concern is buying three products and then having problems with the user names synching up. I’m curious to know, what are the top picks for doing this task. Preferably for under $600. I’d also be interested in any hosted products that do this. Please keep in mind that my knowledge of computer programming only consists of limited VB and using Frontpage.
Thanks for any help you can provide.

admin answers:
There are more and more platforms that include all three. Hosted, you might check out https://www.webcrossing.com – they have all three, though the blog tool is a little different than most blog software.
Http://www.learningtimes.org and https://communityzero.com also are two other hosted options.

Sandra asks…
how do i publish my “publisher page” to my website?
I can’t quite figure out how to publish my webpage which has been created in publisher to my web page/or host. What is the best method for doing this?
also how do i link another website with different text eg i write Africa and it takes me to www.africa.com, without showing the adress. can this be done in publisher or is it better to go accross to frontpage?
thanks

admin answers:
Your webhost probably provides an FTP option somewhere on their site for you to upload the files that are in your website folder. You can also upload them with an FTP program. Most hosts have help pages explaining what to type in to connect. Here’s one free FTP program you can use if interested: https://www.coreftp.com/
I’m not sure how to use those programs to add links, but if you open up the file with Notepad, you can edit the html to look like this:
Africa
