Laura asks…
If I make a website in iWeb and host it, can someone without iWeb edit it in the future?
For example, would someone with Frontpage or whatever Microsoft’s newest web editor is, be able to edit the website in the future? I will be building and publishing the website initially in iweb, and they will be managing it for the future. Will this work? Thanks.

admin answers:
Software like iWeb (and Dreamweaver, Frontpage etc) don’t tend to help a lot in maintenance. I used to use them a long back. For example, if you open an existing site in many of these software, they change the code in such a way that it doesn’t remain what it was earlier.
So they may be good for designing your site the first time and holding on to the same copy for further changes in future, but I’d definitely not depend upon another software (like Frontpage) to be able to be used cleanly with the site created with iWeb.
They can definitely change the website by making changes to the code directly. But using MS FP etc probably would not be a right approach. Like I say, it might work, but not very well.

Mandy asks…
What is the best and most cost effective way to host multiple domain websites in Australia?
I have limited but improving web design skills and I want to create and upload several websites for my wife’s business, to help generate sales leads for her.
I have already purchased the domain names (from US-based GoDaddy.com) and will be using either FrontPage or Dreamweaver to create the sites … how do I go about uploading the sites (ie is this via FrontPage or Dreamweaver?) and can anyone offer any advice on multi-domain hosting?

admin answers:
You can use GoDaddy’s Web hosting plans to host unlimited domains. I would purchase the Deluxe hosting but Economy should also prove fine.
There’s really no advice needed; just purchase the hosting, set up your domains, create an FTP account for each domain and use Dreamweaver”s built-in FTP client to upload.
