How to choose a free web hosting site for my domain?
After I paid for a domain from godaddy, I found out its web hosting prices were not good for me. I want one that is free. It’s gonna be just a small personal website to publicize myself and no intention of business. There are so many of them out there. What should I look into to decide which one to choose? There are a few subquestions:
Is it a common practise for free hosting site to charge for the domain transfer fee?
Does free webhosting site provide support for the basic designing of my homepage? (I knew nothing about Microsoft Frontpage or Dreamweaver…)
If I dislike it, is it possible for me to switch to other hosting sites without losing any of the content on my page?

Does free web hosting provide support for the basic web designing of your page? With most yes, they have site-builders to help you with your page and you don’t have to know a line of code whatsoever. Looking For A good web hosting site For Personal Use?
I’m looking for a web hosting site. I don’t mind paying for it as long as it isn’t too expensive (Anything under $70.00 preferably) and also something that’s easy to use, whether it has its own on site builder or its compatible with Microsoft frontpage. I am an online cam model and I’d like a site to advertise, somewhere to add updates about my next shows, post videos, pictures and maybe sell some things like autographed pictures. I need to purchase a domain name as well so if the site has that included (some have it included for free) that’d be awesome.

I know I need a web host and a program to create the website, but can anyone suggest any great web hosting sites which provide an professional easy to use online website builder?? I don’t want to use dreamweaver or frontpage because they are pretty confusing! P.S I want to have videos on my site.

Google.com not so sure , But i know there’s lots of files they do not support , no Cpanel , and i don’t know how come , but they have been receiving downtimes lately in their host servers.
Yahoo , let me just say it’s the worst web host ever ,you can’t even host the amount of domains you want to host . Including FatCow.com. The downtime is way to much , and many files are un-compatible in fatcow for some reason.
To buy a domain , the most recommended site is godaddy , but not for it’s hosting!! I Tell you !!!.

Can I use Microsofts Openoffice Writer to create a Website.?
I have Windows Microsofts Openoffice Writer and I would like to know if I can use it to create a website and publish it to a web hosting site. The tool bars look just like Frontpage tool bars. Can I use it as if I were using Microsoft Front Page. This new technology is very difficult for me, I’am from the prehistoric era. Thank you.

You can – about the same way you can use a claw hammer to turn a screw – you’d be using about the worst tool possible for the job. (Even Notepad is MUCH better to produce web pages.) Microsoft’s “html” is so far from real html that some servers – that meet W3C standards – throw errors on it.
If a 66 year old (me) can earn his living writing web pages, you’re not too old to learn. (I just finished a 4-day course in Javascript yesterday.)
