ok, i have used microsoft publisher- i need to get my website online- i have a domain and web host (lycos) so its all ready to go, i just cant seem to get it all online!!please help im racking my brain!!!

How long does it take for a domain to point towards a separate web-host?
I’ve just bought a domain name and i’ve hosted it with a separate free web host site. I’ve changed the nameservers but i don’t know how long it will take?
Any ideas?

Hello,
The changes may take 5 minutes – 48 Hrs. Depends on ISP ( Internet service provider ).
There is no role of domain or hosting provider in this. It is completely depends on ISP ( Internet connection ) you use. ISP’s cache the DNS of domains, which cause old records to show.
In most ISP they update DNS within 24 Hrs. But few ISP may take upto 48 Hrs.
