What do i need to make a website?
Im building a large community website with Webplus 10, i dont really have a clue how this works but im going to sign up to 1&1 for web hosting and domain etc, is there anything else i need to do, my friend asked if i knew what FTP clients and networking were and said i need to know about them, i didnt know what they were, anybody help?

First of all, if you’re using cPanel you don’t necessarily need a FTP program… The File Manager may actually be more secure, if you’re accessing your account via HTTPS (SSL) which you should be, to protect your password from hijackers. With File Manager all you need to get files to and from your server (and set permissions on files and folders, and decompress archives, and all sorts of other goodies) is your web browser.
As to actual FTP software, have a look at the full-featured and free FileZilla…

Is there a better Alternative than 1&1’s WebSiteBuilder?
I’m working on my Web Page Taylorlloydinc.co.uk and finding the ‘WebSiteBuilder’ application 1&1 provide is frustrating, slow and constantly wiping my work.
Is there an other application I can use to maintain & update the Site but still have it hosted by 1&1?
