Ventrillo Server Help?
I would like to set up my own Ventrilo server. I am aware of the Ventrilo server that you can run on a PC/Mac, but I wish to actually run it on a remote server.
I’m currently a customer of 1&1 Web Hosting company with a 1&1 Beginner Package. This gives me, (or at least I believe) just a domain name and some web storage space.
I’m pretty sure I wont be able to run a Ventrillo server off of here, so my question to you guys is how can I kill two birds with one stone. What should I be looking for in a company that I can both rent a server with storage space for web, and be able to run a Ventrillo server from?
I’m not looking for stand alone Vent Hosting. Learn to be considerate and read carefully before criticizing people.

Making a website – tell me what you think?
Ok im making a website to bring in some cash through adsense and here are the principles i have decided on-
-making site with macromedia dreamweaver
-using 1&1 web hosting
-using some ftp client
-site consists of text and images
heres what i need to know –
-what code should i use, CSS im thinking mainly?
-how can i get people to have accounts etc to login
– how can i make the site to post topics, forum maybe?
– is a forum hard to make?
tell me what you think and is it achievable????????????

Simple pages can be made by just using html, but dynamic pages needs at least javascript. CSS is for styling, its not a html coding language by itself.
You need to have database setup if you want users to login. In this case you’ll need something like mysql or oracle or access or sql server to do it. Mere html and javascript is not going to help you.
If you are good with any of the web programming langauge – php, jsp, asp, or asp.net, then making forums is not hard. But if you don’t know any of these languages, then you need to learn at least one of them first.
If you put your dedication into it then it is achievable.

I need a cheap but reliable web host for a small business. All I really need is ~50mb storage, php/cgi, and cpanel for around $5/month
I dont need a hosting package with 1.5GB of storage and 500GB transfer, that would be horrendous overkill for the size of site that I will be using.
