Your Questions About Web Host For Frontpage
Mary asks…
Could someone who speaks English as their first language tell me if this short text need to be edited? Thx?
To set up a website, there are three steps you will need to take:
Get Your Domain Name:
A domain name is a name you want to call your website. For example, “yahoo.com”, “youtube.com” and “wikipedia.org” are all domain names. To obtain a domain name, you have to pay an annual fee to a registrar for the right to use that name. Take into consideration that you cannot buy a domain for life. You get it for a period of one to ten years. If you fail to renew the domain name at the end of its term, the registration of the domain will be revoked and the domain name may be acquired by another party.
Choose a Web Host and Sign Up For an Account:
A web hosting service provides you with online space. This enables you to get your web pages online at your registered domain name.
Design Your Web Pages and Get Them Online:
There are three ways to create and get your website online:
A- Some web hosts offer Easy-To-Use Site Builder that helps you build your web pages without difficulty, even if you are not skilled in using any website creating software. Their web builder is a WYSIWYG program (What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get). This means that the finished page will display exactly the way it was designed.
B- You can create the pages offline with your favorite program (DreamWeaver, FrontPage, etc), and then upload them to your web host. This is another easy way to get your website online.
C- Frontpage Extensions allow you to publish your site directly from the FrontPage application. This means that you will not have to upload files through FTP, or another method. Microsoft FrontPage is a popular WYSIWYG HTML editor and web site administration tool from Microsoft.

Ruth asks…
I’ve created a form for a website using Microsoft Expressions, but…?
How do I retrieve the information collected without setting the form up to use FrontPage Extensions (something I cannot do, since my web host no longer supports extensions) I went to form properties and it looks as though the only option is to send the info to a Custom ISAPI, NSPAI, CGI, or ASP script. I’m new to Microsoft Expressions and don’t really know what any of these are. I’ve gone to numerous sites and tried countless searches, but all I can find is the basic information about how to create the form. Well my form is created. Now I need to utilize it. Please help.

I use MS EXPS
This is a sample of a contact form I created for a customer…no need for MS Extensions…
You need to add the “form mailer” ( the email you will receive info) … Either by accessing your control panel or adding it in the form settings…
Note that you will need to add the form action… You need to find out from your host provider…I used godaddy, so the action code for my form is “/gdform.php” … Also, you may want to use a thank you reply…simply create a thank you page, and add in the code. The thank you page will show after submission…I hope this helps somehow… Good luck!

What do pros use for website design?
My guess is FrontPage, or some other big name brand. But that’s not my question. I mean, what host do they use? Google Web Hosts, and you get tons of, “free domain with webpage! only 9.95 a month!”. I doubt that’s what pros use, like school web sites, or like the target.com website. I mean, why would a pro website, like the target website or maybe even whitehoues.gov, use the Gold Membership at Yahoo! Geocities?
admin answers:
Front Page, DreamWeaver, Cold Fusion. That’s what I see the most.
I go with http://www.iPowerWeb.com. It is an awesome value. But I also run another full server with many small accounts.

Hosting for Expression Web?
I need want to start learning Microsoft Expression Web. I also want to move my domain name to a new hosting service.
What kind of requirements for a hosting service do I need for a Website created with Expression Web? Do I need Frontpage Extentions or something to that effect?
admin answers:
If you like to create websites (usually you will end up more than 1 website, I got more than 100 websites in about 6 months’ time), go for multiple web hosting services where you could host all your websites in one account.
I would like to suggest following webhosting which I use, they are excellent.
Hostmonster http://www.hostmonster.com/track/ryukenden/
They offer hosting of “unlimited domains” and you will get massive webspace of 300000 MB (300 GB ). They only charge $5.95/month and they offer “a free Domain Name” and installing service called “Fantastico”. By using Fantastico, you could create own forum, photo gallery, shopping cart (e-commerce),your own auction site and your own blogs within few seconds. They also offer “Free Website Builder” as well.
Visit the site to check details.
