Carol asks…
Is Godaddy.com a Good Web Host Provider?
I need to change web host providers asap and was wondering if these guys are any good…was with yahoo…any one else you can recommend? Thanks

Hi there again! GoDaddy is a reasonable alternative for a Web host provider. They have some drawbacks with customer service and some features, but overall it serves the purpose.
I’m terribly sorry to hear about all of this as you’ve put so much heart and soul in finding homes for your street cats. Please keep me posted if you would like to email me (select my avatar).

Can someone link me to a free web hosting provider that allows custom cron jobs?
Im trying to make a text-based RPG and I need a free web host, I’d prefer the bandwidth space to be about 2-5GB with MySQL and php available.

Helen asks…
What’s a good web host provider?
My budget is $5 a month. I saw some good $3.95 ones but I never heard of the companies.

If you are having problem choosing a good web hosting to use, I suggest you do the following:
1. Go to the webhost review sites such as webhostingjury, hostingthatsucks.com or webhostinggeeks and list down about 3 common top hosting companies.
2. Next, for each web hosting X, do a “X sucks” search on Google. Read some complaints and see if you may encounter the same problems like them. Some of the complaints may relate to certain groups of users only such as VPS, dedicated server users or resellers. So you may not be affected if you are not from these categories.
3. Eliminate those hostings you feel uncomfortable with, and look for the best bargain hosting for your money.
If your budget is about $5 a month, you can start with Godaddy hosting, Justhost and Fatcow.
Good luck

What is the best web hosting provider?
I am looking to set up a website. I have some experience but am looking for something not to complicated as I only have so much time, hence I’m looking for something with a web site builder with a large variety of templates. I want to have a blog, web forums, a section for pics and whatever else comes to mind that you may think of that I haven’t mentioned.
If your happy with your host, can you also post the url for your site so I can check it out? Thanks for the help.

Sounds like you would do well with Cpanel. It is a great server program that installs all kinds of scripts… Forums, blogs, etc.
Http://www.basichosting.info is not a host, but the guy that owns it will do research for you for free, and even give you some support.
